The 24th edition of the KNIFE FESTIVAL (Fête du Couteau) will occur on Saturday, August 3rd and Sunday, August 4th in Nontron
For more than 20 years, every summer, the cradle of the most ancient knife of France celebrates the multiple aspects of the millenary art of the cutlery industry. In Nontron, around one hundred cutlery manufacturers, craftpersons, creators and distributors from the entire world come to share their passion with the public.

The Knife Festival welcomes renown cutlery manufacturers and gives pride of place to young talented creators.  The Knife Festival allows to acquire exceptional knives but also and above all to discover the art of cutlery through numerous demonstrations: forge, flint cutting, scrimshaw and knives’ blade… These demonstrations will occur along the week-end.

This year, the Damascus technic is put on the spotlight with the cutler manufacturer Alessandro Simonetti who will make a demonstration of Damascus blade forging during the two days and will respond to the questions of the public. Finally, the association 3F3M will install a furnace where an iron mass will be produced and will serve as a raw material for the forge.
On Saturday, August 3rd by night, the whole city will get animated with concerts in bars and restaurants.
