The Nontron Experimental Pole of Arts and Crafts presents in partnership with the Cluster “ResoCUIR” and the city of Saint-Junien, the exhibition “Inspiration Nature” from June 29th to August 31st 2019 in the Nontron castle.
It gathers creations of around thirty professionals, members of the Pole and ResoCUIR on the theme of nature. Nature as a link between leather knowhow and those of other arts and crafts, nature as a raw material, as esthetic, as vision.
Ecology, sustainable development, natural resources, noble materials, the territory are in the heart of the arts and crafts definition and practices. The exhibition will present as a result creations made with vegetal fibers, clay, wood…and, of course, leather, realized by ceramists, engravers, tanners, milliners, saddlers, mosaicists and other craftsperson.
The nature will be also their source of inspiration for bucolic use objects or decorations with landscape patterns. The nature also refers to the landscapes, the living and fulfilment area of the arts and crafts jobs in our region.
The Nontron Experimental Pole of Arts and Crafts which favors the development and the promotion of the arts and crafts is the partner of Reso Cuir and the event “Les portes du cuir” since their beginning.
Leather is indeed an emblematic material of the Perigord-Limousin region as the whole sector is presented and today, companies and institutions are gathered around one cluster: ResoCUIR. Moreover, the city of Saint-Junien labeled “Ville et Métiers d’Art” (City and Arts and Crafts) is committed in ResoCUIR and houses the event “Les Portes du Cuir” in 2019.
This exhibition has been imagined as a form of a new collaboration between the members of these institutions.
“Inspiration Nature” will allow the public to get immerge in our territory, its atmosphere, its materials, its beauty and its richness. You will discover the arts and crafts knowhow and the creativity implemented in the Perigord-Limousin region and the structures which stimulate their fulfilment.
