47th ceramic market of Bussière-Badil

Since nearly half a century, during the Ascension, the Ceramic Market of Bussière-Badil gives pride of place to what modern ceramic includes of most creative, most artistic and most accomplished. This year again, the members of the association “Quatre à Quatre” have worked throughout the year to maintain the exigency, the quality and the conviviality of this event which will occur from May 9 to May 12 2024.
A specific interest is shown for the welcoming of the 44 ceramists exhibitors who come from the entire France while offering honourable conditions for their exceptional work and communicating in order to attract the public more and more informed and loyal.
For this 47th occasion, the ceramic market of Bussière-Badil has the opportunity to welcome Ule Ewelt. She comes from the German frontier in order to enthral the public by her knowhow during the four days through demonstrations. Admirer of the artists from the prehistoric times, she understands like them the interior essence of the animals she models with the clay in order to capture a movement outside of time, archaic.
In the manner of this artist, Bénédicte Vallet will bring you in a timeless universe, at the edge of the vegetable, the animal and the mineral. Creator of “textiles ceramics”, she gathers her fragments of porcelain which have passed through the ages with natural fibres. Her works, both delicate and spectacular, will be revealed during the exhibition which will occur in the Roman church of Bussière-Badil, at the same time as the Ceramic Market.
As the works of these two artists which testify of the passage of time, the association “Quatre à quatre”, organiser of the market, is proud to serve this renown event which, despite the current economic vicissitudes, goes through the time and crisis while renewing year by year its program and mobilizing a loyal public.

The program :
– From May 9 to 12 from 10 am to 7 pm : 44 ceramists exhibit their creations under the hangar.
– From May 9 to 12 from 10 am to 7 pm : Exhibition “Géographie animale” (animal geography) of Bénédicte Vallet in the church.
– From May 9 to 12 from 10 am to 7 pm : Demonstrations of the ceramist Ule Ewelt.
– From May 9 to 12 from 10 am to 12 pm and from 2 to 6 pm : Ceramic workshop with Mathieu Hettema
– From May 9 to 12 : Projection of movies dedicated to the practise of ceramic.
– From May 9 to 12 from 10 am to 7 pm : Exhaustive offer of books about ceramic in the library Terres d’Aligre
– Prize of the public : During the week-end the public will be able to vote for his favourite booth. The winner of the lucky draw will win an item of the ceramist chosen.
